Progress Update - 5th May 2023 - Making a House

Using assets taken from the Unreal store and other sources, I've created an immersive bedroom in a house, with grabbable objects like a remote control and books. By using the custom grab component included in the VR template for each blueprint, each object works the exact same way. Since the objects are fairly simple, they do not need to be interacted with in any other way than picking them up, so I haven't modified the grab component.

This is an overall look at the room I created. In future, I hope to have better lighting in the room, as the only light is coming from the directional light outside, and in real life, the light, when passing through the window, would leave rays on the floor in front of it.

Here is a bathroom. Nothing in it is interactable, but the asset pack I used did come with various small objects like toothbrushes and soap dispensers, so in a future iteration of this artefact I would use the grab component on them to make them interactive.

Although there are no light sources in this room, UE5's lumen is still casting light into the room. This may be because of how lighting is set up in the VR template, as in other scenes this room would be dark. In a future iteration of this room, I would put spotlight blueprints in the roof, consisting of a static mesh and point light, so that the lighting in the room is not the exact same as the outside.
